The Premise: Napoleon's Eternal Guard
William died a soldier of the Grande Armée and woke up reborn — the plague sweeping Europe now pulses through his veins as power. The campaign sends him through an alternate 19th century where the war never ended cleanly: plague-ridden abominations walk the battlefields, Napoleon's Eternal Guard holds the cities, and environmental secrets reward the same Metroidvania curiosity that the Amber collectibles formalize. Historical figures and horror intertwine; the story's conspiracy ends in a final encounter the trophy list simply calls In His Own Image.
How It Plays
The combat core is posture: parry attacks to build toward a stagger-critical, dash what you cannot read, and finish what you break. Around that core sit firearms for weak points — the Risen Grenadier's bucket is the famous one — and Transmutations, the supernatural layer whose flamethrower and Stasis tools each have an achievement built around them. Death drops your Catalysts where you fell; lanterns are checkpoints; and the ten named bosses grade every system the campaign teaches.

Parry, stagger and execute through the Eternal Guard's ranks on the road to each boss.
